How To Endure Your Vintage Truck And Car?

Imagine having just finished putting together your newest model truck. A beautiful forties model vintage trucks it looks great and was fun assembling but something doesn't feel right about it. With it looking cherry just like it rolled off the assembly line it seems quite out of place. You have thought about it and decided that you really want to make it look as if it has been sitting in a field somewhere as cows have grazed around it. Is this level of realism really within reach? Well, either you could drop it in the middle of a cow pasture somewhere and see how it does or you can weather it yourself. Think about which one would be easier.

If you want to attempt weathering your truck you will be in for a nice surprise. It is rather easy to do and requires very little in the way of time or supplies. You will only need a selection of earth tone paints, some water, and a paintbrush or two. The first thing you will need to do is to paint your model truck. Make sure not to give it a thorough coating. You will want to miss a few spots a bit or leave them a little thin. By doing so your rust spots will stand out much better. While your truck is drying you will have time to prepare your rust ink.

The best way to prepare this ink is to find the color you will want to use and mix it with water in a 1:1 ratio. You will then have what is known as a wash. The way that a wash works is that it leaves the water behind as a very light residue but it will not cover up the paint underneath. You should make sure that the ink and water is thoroughly mixed so that it does not become separated. If it does you can have thick spots left overon your paint job that can ruin the look of it.

After you have properly prepared the wash you can then begin to apply it. Dip the tip of your brush only in the wash and allow it to draw in some it. If you overload your brush you can end up losing control of the amount of ink left behind. By using only the tip you will be able to maintain control of the wash that you are laying down. You will next need to touch the brush to the truck. Make sure that it is in the center of where you would like the rust to start out.

Very carefully draw your brush out and away from the place that you want the rust to originate from. This can help you to make it seem much more real. It can also make the paint job look fake if it is not applied properly. Make sure that each coating of rust has ample time to dry so that it will look the best possible.

If you want to make a bigger impact with the rust effect then you need to repeat your steps several times. The more layers that you add will increase the aging effect. This will highly increase the aging effect of a wash. Something you should consider is making several different colors of washes so that you can more closely simulate true rust which is not uniform in color at all. Just think, soon you will be making your own vintage trucks in no time.

If you want to make the rust stand out even more then you can repeat the previous steps. Each time you do this it will add a layer to the model car that it did not have before making it look older and older. The more you add the more weathered it will appear. Make sure to mix different washes each time. Rust is not uniform in color so neither should your wash. With a bit of practice you will be creating vintage cars in no time at all.

America has a love affair with cars and one of the most revered category of cars ever developed was the muscle car. Today, there is huge demand for muscle cars that were built and sold during their heyday in the 1960’s and early 1970’s. However, since demand is so high and high quality muscle cars are harder and harder to find, prices can be 20 times or more expensive than their original purchase price. If you are looking for muscle cars for sale, here are some tips.

High Quality, Rare Muscle Cars for Sale

If you have your heart set on buying a high quality muscle car or one that was produced in very limited numbers, your best bet is to contact a classic car broker. Muscle cars are usually some of the most in demand vehicles. While they may not be as high priced as exotic sports cars, American muscle cars that cost $3,000 to purchase new in the late 1960’s can easily cost $75,000, $100,000 or more. The best way to locate these high quality vehicles is usually through a broker that can put you into contact with private sellers.

Classic Car Auctions

Another great way to find high quality, in demand muscle cars for sale is at classic car auctions. High profile car auctions occur several times per year. Ford F150 Truck As Best Pickup Truck

There is always much debate amongst Ford trucks and Chevrolet truck enthusiasts as to which is the better truck. Sure, there are many ways to compare the Chevy Silverado truck and the Ford F150 truck, including their specs, the interior styling and comfort, exterior styling and features, fuel economy, pricing, horsepower and torque, and reliability and longevity.

In many ways the Chevy Silverado and Ford F150 are very similar, including their horsepower, and towing capacity, though there is video proof of a Silverado out pulling an F150 in a tug of war. But the general idea is that the performance characteristics of these two pickup trucks are pretty much identical.

If you look at the exterior styling of the Chevy Silverado, it has more angular lines than the Ford F150, which has a softer curved style to it. Again this comes down to the Chevy vs Ford guy/gal. As for the interior styling, well, they're pickup trucks, so they're not going to be very different in terms of seating, instrumentation and sound and air conditioning, etc. So again it comes down to whether you are Chevy fan or a Ford fan.

Surprise, fuel economy is basically identical between the Chevy Silverado and the Ford F150 as well. Yet another spec category that can't be decided by any other reason than brand preference. Do you see a pattern here? What about reliability and longevity? That one is again difficult to quantify, as there are always stories of the million mile Chevy Silverado and the Ford F Series floating around. My tendency would be to favor the Silverado slightly in this category, however there just isn't enough proof on either side to come to a definitive conclusion.

So if the Silverado and the Ford F150 are pretty much identical, how can you determine which one is better? There is only one real factor that can determine which truck is better: the North American consumer! So right now, all the Ford fans are cheering and slapping themselves on the back for having the best pickup truck, given that the Ford F150 sold 515,513 units in 2008 compared to the Chevy Silverado at 465,065 units sold. So it looks rosy for the F150, however if you consider the fact that the GMC trucks Sierra is just a Chevy Silverado rebranded under the GMC nameplate, total sales of Chevy Silverado come out on top at 633,609 units sold.

This makes the Chevy Silverado the eternally disputed king of trucks.

This range of power should be sufficient for the smallest budget, up to the largest job. Bulldozers combine strength with agility and versatility. Their track drive systems, combined with an evenly distributed weight design allow dozers to go wherever their needed, and take their power with them.

Size and power is not everything, when it comes to getting the right dozer for your job. Buying a dozer that's too big to get around your job site is not a good idea either. Blade size and type are important factors to consider when making your purchase decision. Choosing the correct brand of dozer can be a challenge as well. There are several good bulldozer manufacturers to consider, such as Komatsu construction equipments, Caterpillar, New Holland, Rayco, John Deere, Liebherr, and Case. Each of these makers have several models worth considering.

For smaller horsepower jobs, New Holland has the D75, D85, and D95 dozers that range from 75 to 95 horsepower. Komatsu D31EX/PX-21, D39EX/PX-21m and D37EX/PX-21 come with some nice electronic controls. The ever popular Caterpillar are always good machines to consider, especially the D89T, and the D2 models.
